Nicole’s Success Stories
Tena A.
I started working with Nicole 8 years ago. I was never someone who went to the gym, but I wanted to start a program to help me get more fit in retirement. She is a good listener about what I want to achieve and also helpful at addressing specific issues when they arise. Plus, Nicole is very engaging to talk with during the session. I am now a grandma and want to play with a very active granddaughter, get up and down off the floor many times during the day, and chase endlessly in the park. I am stronger and more flexible with fewer aches and pains since I have been working out with Nicole.

I joined the Center when I retired and before the pandemic hit. I had never been a member of a fitness facility before then. I am not athletic, and I am certainly not wealthy. The main reason I have continued to pay monthly fees and cover the cost of session tickets is that Nicole is the best trainer I can imagine. She is knowledgeable about health issues that are affected or improved by fitness training. I am much stronger and more flexible than I was when I started. Nicole is quick to build on my strengths and to help me take on new challenges. She knows what I should not attempt and what I can build toward. I come away from every session feeling lucky to have her as a trainer.

Nicole is positive, informed, creative, and responsive to who you are, as well as how and what you want to be physically and mentally in support of that. She is always encouraging and a great person to work with.

After fracturing my shoulder and going through surgery and months of physical therapy, I had lost a lot of strength. I began seeing Nicole twice a week in the fall of 2025, and she has been an invaluable partner in my physical fitness journey. I’m the type who has a hard time motivating myself to get to the gym. Now I feel motivated to work out, and our one-hour sessions fly by because we also have great conversations. Nicole is sensitive to my physical limitations while also designing a challenging workout. I have definitely grown stronger over the months, and I’m very thankful for Nicole’s coaching and encouragement.

Nicole and I have worked together for at least six years. She has seen me through injuries, pregnancy, weight loss, and all of life’s adventures. She’s been able to accommodate any “my arm doesn’t bend that way this week,” offering many exercise alternatives and always with my fitness goals in mind. We have built strength and muscle, and it has helped me keep running after my kids with ease. I appreciate her immense knowledge, as well as her humor and ability to meet me where I am on any given day. I even trusted her with my mom as a client, too! I highly recommend her as a trainer for anyone interested in truly good form, the ability to accommodate any restrictions, and for someone who makes you willing to get to the gym at 8:00am!

When I joined the gym in 2022, I was paired with Nicole for my initial training session, and I couldn’t have been more fortunate to be matched with her. Although I had worked out in the past (running, biking, aerobics classes), I didn’t have the knowledge or confidence to lift weights and strength train in the gym. That has all changed. Nicole’s experience, knowledge, and willingness to share that knowledge make her an excellent trainer. She not only demonstrates all the movements but also explains which muscles we are targeting. Nicole sees where I am at and enables me to progress safely and with confidence in the gym. As a bonus, she is a lovely person, and it’s fun to spend that hour with her!

I began working with Nicole in November 2021 twice a week for one hour. I have exercised since I was 19, swimming, jogging, and biking. I could never follow through with weights or machines which I needed to do for bone density. Working with Nicole, I’ve lost body fat mass and gained lean body mass. I’m very grateful since she makes working hard for an hour actually fun!
