Fun Fact:
I speak two languages, Spanish and English. In my spare time, I enjoy reading books (I recommend some dystopian!) and watching tv shows. Recently, I have fallen in love with Latin dancing. Piano and guitar are my two favorite instruments to play!

Why did you go into Personal Training?
I was overweight growing up. By the time I got to high school, I was an athlete. I competed in cross country and track and field until I got injured in my senior year. This was a catalyst for my passion for sports medicine. This past year, I have become very passionate about Olympic Weightlifting and hope to become a USAW!

I started training with Mike when he was a Tier 1, and when I turned 40, I realized that I had to take exercise more seriously. My husband motivated me to have a structured and consistent schedule for going to the gym. I was pleased with my first trial session with Mike, and since then, I’ve been doing weekly sessions with him. I don’t have the confidence to touch all the equipment, so having a Personal Trainer is helpful for me. Mike can educate me on how to use the equipment and help me with what type of exercise I should do. He made each session fun! I signed up with reservations, thinking about my future meeting with my trainer as a moment of embarrassment (moment of truth) where I would learn about my weaknesses and the status of my overall fitness condition.

Mike showed up with a big smile, and his welcoming personality put me at ease from the first moment we met. He proved himself very knowledgeable and confident about a game plan that would meet my goals and, more importantly, build confidence and motivation to continue my training even further after his sessions.

During the past three months, Mike kept me on target by adjusting mobility stretches and exercises to meet my health challenges and drive me to continue and improve every single time to stay on track and be more comfortable with this journey. Mike is also an excellent listener and can provide valuable recommendations for research and make informed decisions to help you meet your personal goals.

I’m writing this review for my brother, Korak, who has adaptive fitness classes and works with Mike. Mike is phenomenal with him. He does customized exercises and focuses on extending his well-being. My brother looks forward to his sessions with Mike, even after a long day at his day program. Mike communicates very well with our family and has even figured out incentives that motivate Korak to work out. They have a close bond, and we are thankful to Mike and the Center team!

I have been working with Mike for two years—three times per week. I am a retired Dentist, age 86, and I have never met anyone who knows his anatomy as well as Mike does. He can be very specific when using the correct exercise to help any of my trouble areas. Not only is Mike extremely knowledgeable anatomically, but he is also very sociable as he oversees my workout.

As a client of Mike’s, I’d like to tell you how wonderful a Personal Trainer he is. He always asks me if I have aches or soreness and then addresses those issues. He targets my balance issues with a variety of balance exercises. He provides many strength training exercises, covering all the body muscles. He keeps records of my workouts. He almost always arrives on time and completes the entire hour. I understand he desires to move to Tier 3, and I believe it is well-deserved.

Mike has been instrumental in my recovery after heart surgery in 2023. There are many reasons why I like working with him. Still, the most significant to me was his knowledge of how to structure our sessions so that I could benefit from them, meaning he has been very responsive to my changing needs during our time together. I am immensely impressed by his knowledge of various muscles and how to help them if they hurt or need to be used more often or differently, depending on my state of health. Mike is a very caring person and professional in every respect. I highly recommend him as a trainer. He is knowledgeable and encouraging without being pushy.

Before I started with Mike, I could hardly walk a few yards without hip pain — and this was despite medication and PT from another place. As a trainer, Mike is observant, patient, and insightful. He makes sure I’m doing the exercises correctly and knows when to push me harder and when to hang back. He also has a wealth of knowledge about physical therapy and how it works. I am so much better now, thanks to Mike!
