I am a professional ballet dancer performing with The Roxey Ballet in New Hope, PA.
Why did you go into Pilates instruction?
I discovered my love for Pilates when I began incorporating it into my ballet training at the Rock School for Dance Education, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and Columbia Classical Ballet. I value the mind-body connection that is gained from Pilates practice. I notice Pilates’s beneficial effects on the body, strengthening and lengthening muscles and coordinating breath and movement. I appreciate the positive impact that Pilates has on the mind, helping it to gain a sense of body awareness. Pilates and dance require attention to detail and emphasize quality, control, and proper alignment.
