Why did you go into Personal Training?
I got into personal training because I’ve never been the best athlete at any sport I played, but I was always the hardest working. And I want to show people that through hard word, persistence, and the right mindset, we can accomplish a lot more than we ever thought was possible.
Kenny’s Success Stories
After a serious bike accident that required a shoulder replacement, I was in physical therapy for most of a year. At the end, the physical therapy manager advised me to get a personal trainer. He suggested I have the trainer check in with the physical therapists before training. We did, and I was referred to Trainer Kenny. He made a giant difference in my life. In a short amount of time, he helped me feel like a new person. I still see Kenny weekly for a big dose of fitness training. I congratulate him on his new promotion, and will miss him greatly.
Kenny has been terrific. He knows just how far to challenge me. He is excellent at making modifications when I struggle. He’s also very good at positive reinforcement. He tells me how much I’ve progressed since we started training, which then makes me want to work even harder. Our personalities click, and the hour flies by before I know it. He’s also got me hooked on his favorite go-to meal: a piece of chicken, sweet potato, and Brussels sprouts. My hope is to one day be able to call myself an authentic “gym rat.”
As a woman with a family history of osteoporosis, I decided it was time to learn how to lift heavy. I was referred to Kenny by a former competitive bodybuilder. She told me, “If you’re looking to put on real muscle, Kenny is the best.” She was right. From day one, Kenny took me and my goals seriously. He watches my form like a hawk. He actually noticed a hip imbalance I never knew existed (and no other previous trainer caught). Kenny proceeded to change my routine to correct it. It worked! It’s clear he loves his job because he is constantly learning. He stays updated on the latest exercise science research. My favorite Kenny quote is: “No matter what you do, you’ll look like your lifestyle.” I gain joy and confidence from every session. Whether you’re an accomplished athlete, or completely terrified of a squat rack, Kenny is the trainer to help you get to your next level.
If you’re looking to give 100 percent each session and have a blast doing it, find your way onto Kenny’s schedule. Kenny helped me realize my foundation was unstable. Although I focused on power, he focused on the basics to make me an overall healthier person. He has helped me challenge myself beyond what I thought was possible. He showed me what it means to actually work out and be exhausted. The results show themselves as I progress through each workout, exercising better, faster, and overall stronger. Do yourself a favor and train with Kenny. He’ll be the reason you’re living your best life.
Seventeen months ago, my husband and I started our personal fitness journeys with Kenny. I already had begun my health and wellness journey when I decided to retire. However, I knew if I was going to achieve my goal of many years of happy, healthy, and active retirement I needed to do something different. Kenny has been just that catalyst. He has helped me take my fitness and wellness to a new level. Already, I have achieved a number of my goals, including mountain hiking. Two years in a row, I decreased my 12-mile hiking time significantly. I went from being unable to do a pushup to being able to do pushups off the floor. In the beginning, I only could plank for a few seconds. Now, I hold side planks for a minute. After only three months, my nurse evaluation showed an increase in muscle mass and decrease in body fat. I’ve seen significant improvement in my core stability, stamina, and endurance, which has enabled me to add Cycle classes five times a week in addition to my hiking. Kenny is a well-rounded coach who helps you realize important lifestyle improvements that are critical in order to achieve your goals. Most importantly, Kenny cares about what you are trying to achieve and he focuses on helping you accomplish it safely.
My fitness journey started a few years back but ended abruptly due to a debilitating back injury. A couple months ago, I decided to get back in shape and start making improvements in my daily life. This happened to be when I met Personal Trainer Kenny. Our first session, in my words, was absolutely embarrassing. I felt like I couldn’t follow the simplest directions. I wasn’t as flexible and fast as I hoped. Kenny always encouraged me. He customized my fitness plan. Two months have passed since I started training with Kenny, and I could not be happier. He is a great mentor. He always challenges me, helping me do things I didn’t know I could. In addition, I lost 20 pounds, which is the icing on the cake! I wholeheartedly recommend Kenny. I look forward to continuing our training. I know he will help me achieve all my fitness goals.
Within my first three months of training with Kenny, my body fat went down 7.5 percent. He understood my goals and comfort level, and created a perfect plan with the right amount of vigor and fun. Now, I have finished my first year at the Center. I can honestly say I owe all my progress to the eight months I worked with Kenny. He keeps me motivated, reminds me of my goals, and provides positive encouragement to keep me going. He listens to my concerns. He is extremely flexible with my plans when I don’t feel my best or am struggling with soreness. Kenny is also extremely knowledgeable, always willing to answer my questions about equipment, form, and anatomy. I began this fitness journey because I was concerned about my health but lacked the motivation and knowledge needed to take action to the extent I desired. The Center is now a place I enjoy, where I feel confident and accomplished. Kenny is responsible for all that. In the beginning of my fitness journey, I was excited when I got to the Center once every two weeks. Now, I work with Kenny three times a week! From my first days where I was unable to do a few assisted pull-ups, to my first independent one, Kenny has been a great teacher, mentor, coach, and fan. For anyone considering a personal trainer to help attain fitness and wellness goals, I highly recommend working with Kenny. His support and expertise made my goals attainable. He has helped me learn to love fitness and make it a lifestyle.
I joined the Center wanting the “superhero body.” Who wouldn’t want to look like the movie stars. However, to be honest, I just wanted the confidence to take off my shirt at the beach. I was told Kenny was the trainer for me. If you are willing to put in the work, and challenge yourself to the max, Kenny’s workouts immediately begin to pay dividends. After three months, I already gained over five pounds of muscle. Kenny knows what he’s doing and how to work with all kinds of people—whether it’s your first time in a gym or you have an injury to overcome. I had a problem with my right arm. Kenny instantly knew how to work around it to ensure I achieve my goals. He created a plan built for me and gave me the tools to succeed. After summer ended and I returned to college, I could follow Kenny’s program to make sure I stayed on the right path to success. Kenny reviews everything with you. He breaks down your InBody [weight] assessment to make sure you understand how to achieve your goals. Your fitness goal can be whatever you want. Kenny will tell you exactly how to achieve it. The rest is up to you. If you are willing to put in the time and workout with him, you will see results.
