Al earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Duquesne University where he attended as a competitive tennis player on a tennis scholarship. After 20 years of working in the financial industry, Al followed his passion to make a positive, healthy impact on others. He earned certifications from Johnny G, the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America, Les Mills, TRX suspension training, Heart Rate Zones cycling, and R.I.P.P.E.D.
An avid fitness enthusiast, Al is inspired by the opportunity to share his knowledge and experience with members to achieve optimum health. As the Center’s Group Fitness Coordinator, Al is dedicated to creating a Group Fitness program that motivates a commitment to fitness through fun, challenging workouts. He strives to mentor each instructor, continuously interact with members to gauge evolving needs, and ensure a positive, supportive fitness experience.
In his leisure time, Al enjoys relaxing with family and friends, cooking Italian recipes, and being an avid fan of all local sports teams. His favorite food is lemon chicken in wine sauce; he likes tomato sauce and ketchup but won’t eat uncooked tomatoes. (Tricky for an Italian chef.) Fun fact: Al participated in two dance marathons.
Al recognizes health as each person’s most important asset. He believes life’s challenges and demands are better managed by leading a balanced lifestyle. By offering members an invigorating Group Fitness opportunity at each visit, Al helps achieve this.
