Aquatics Manager Matthew earned his Bachelor of Science degree in sports management from Misericordia University. He is a certified pool operator and water safety instructor. He began his career as a lifeguard and advanced to management level. Matthew has overseen community swimming environments as well as provided private and group swim lessons. He swims competitively, and has done so since five years old.
Matthew believes in the power of aquatics fitness. He and his team provide a variety of opportunities to enjoy the many benefits of water workouts. Aquatics expands land workouts for athletes who wish to increase stamina and strength without stressing muscles. For those with injuries or recovering from surgery or illness, water workouts allow a comfortable progression. Matthew evolves the Aquatics program to successfully meet the needs of the Center’s diverse membership.
In his free time, Matthew enjoys fishing, playing golf, participating in recreational sports, and watching football. His favorite foods are homemade Italian dishes. Fun fact: During college, he was a valuable member of his competitive swim team. He assisted in winning five gold medals for his team, and contributed to their second place finish in the Middle Atlantic conference.
Matthew creates positive energy in the Center’s Aquatics department. With his attitude and skill, each member feels comfortable to achieve fitness success in the pool.
